5 Ways To Prepare Your Car to Beat The Las Vegas Heat

5 Ways to beat the las vegas heat
The Las Vegas heat can reach up to 116 degrees (Fahrenheit) just like what happened on July 7 this year (2017). This intense heat can affect not only you and other living things but also your car. Extreme heat can damage your car’s parts and weaken its performance on the road.

The tires, battery, coolant, and oil of your car can be damaged due to the severe heat. The hot temperature can cause a blowout of your tires. It damages the rubber of your tires especially if they’re not properly inflated. The heat can also dry up the water in your battery, hence exposing the lead plates in the battery. The lead plates would then become warped and once the car engine starts, the warped lead plates can result to a spark and even an explosion.

In addition, the low coolant level can damage your car engine and make it stop working. Leakage of the coolant can overheat your engine.

An additional way the heat can damage your vehicle is through the car oil. Any lubrication can degrade when it’s exposed to high heat. It can cause rusting and corroding of the metals inside the engine.

So, what are the steps necessary to prevent all these?

1. Have a checkup of all the fluids in your car. This includes checking the oil, coolant, brake fluid, and gas. Change your oil regularly to prevent accidents. The coolant should be changed yearly. You should also go for a short test drive to see if there’s any leakage.

2. Heat can cause corrosion in the battery and engine. Inspect your battery thoroughly, check the charge, clean the terminals regularly, and make sure they are secured.

3. Change your tires to prevent a possible blowout. An improperly inflated tire can cause your brakes to malfunction or stop working.

4. Your air filter should also be inspected. Change it if necessary.

5. Get a tune-up.

Preventing any accidents should always come first regardless of any season, but it’s even more important in the summer of Las Vegas. You should always check your car and its engine to see if it’s ready for a summer road trip. Always prepare and fix your car with the help of a trustworthy service like Meyers Auto Parts. Helpful tips to avoid the damage from excess heat particularly in Las Vegas region. You have to do a regular check up of your vehicle from a certified service provider. I use to check my vehicle by the DeltaDieselRepair. These people are highly qualified and fixing everything properly on time.
